mini boatsides
found a couple picture threads on them. had a couple questions
1) any ideas for how to do mini boatsides and still have a crossmember that will sandwich the frame? my idea was put a slit in the boatside where it attaches to the frame. then have a threaded end welded to the outside of the xmember bracket. slip the xmember on, then insert the bolt on the inside of the frame rail and tighten it up?
or do weld on brackets and have the center section unbolt. like claytons
2) the 2x6 rockers would raise up into the doors a bit and cut through the floor. it looks like if I cut any higher I will have to cut off my seatbelt bolts(?). has anyone had any problems with keeping stock seatbelt location while doing mini boatsides. is 2x6 the best size for this
thanks
