avoid dana 35 rear ends, and low pinion dana 30 axles in the front (look for high pinion). Tow packages are great as they usually have 3.73 gears in them. and as long as it's a 4.0, I think everything else is pretty much a matter of preference.

There were issues with 2000's with the new head casting. Casting #0331 I believe is notorious for cracking easily if overheated. Although I don't think every 2000 came with the 0331 head. Mine doesn't have a 0331 head and its a 2000.
