long ARM question

Ok I know when u do a long arm kit you have to chop off your old mounting brackets for the short arms but my question is do u have to wield the new long arm mounts or do the bolt on ?

96_xj Jan 20, 2011 02:48 PM

it depends on the kit. so weld, so bolt on, so do both..... just depends on the manufacturer

Mosescase Jan 20, 2011 02:54 PM

So when I order it will it be in the description or do I need to call to make sure.

96_xj Jan 20, 2011 02:55 PM

It should be in the description. If it is not or you have any questions just give them a call

Most of them have in the description how it attaches but you could call the place where you were going to order from to make sure

Off the top of my head i'm sure that Rough country is a bolt on kit not sure of the others

I found a.kit on line last night its wad the 4.5 from RC I think but it also came with SYE and tom woods drive shaft for around 2 k. I'll post the link to where I found it at when I get home if anyone is interested

Mosescase Jan 20, 2011 03:07 PM

So what would be better bolt or wield.

96_xj Jan 20, 2011 03:09 PM

Honestly A combination of the both. Claytons long arm kit is a GREAT kit, also FrankZ (a forum vendor) has a great kit. Just find what you want and set a price on what you want to pay,

Mosescase Jan 20, 2011 03:12 PM

Well for the kit.I really don't want to pay over like1300$ because after SYE and drive shaft I would like to only have 2k invested
