Yeah what the title says 1100 miles from CDA to Newport, OR then to Culver, OR and back home. In a Cherokee with no A/C and no radio. Now it has 311,700 miles.

I just did right under 2k miles, from Texas to Illinois, then from Illinois back to Texas, through Kentucky. The rig did great, and so did my 6 yr old who was with me the whole way!! Also with no AC...but we did have the radio, and he had his little DVD player in the back keeping him occupied for part of the way =)

It did awesome pulled up any hill and cruised at 70-80 suprisingly. I have the big laredo seats so I was pretty comfortable, and I got unrealistic mileage. I filled it all the way up, and I was able to drive for 100-200 miles and it wouldn't go below 3/4th's. So hell if I know. Never overheated, and started everytime. I have a 5000 mile trip coming up so hopfully I'll have a stereo by then. I'd take my XJ anywhere.

I just got back from a 1500 mile round trip a week ago. I drove from California to Colorado and back. Luckily I have A/C and a radio, so I was set!
I would have gotten better gas mileage if I wasn't driving 85mph. Even so, I got 20mpg. The Cherokee did great! No problems!

Their suprisingly good road trip vehicles. Of course mine is stock 3" of lift and 31's may hinder the mpg a little.

Good to know! Although i wouldn't hesitate to take my XJ on a road trip, I have my Acura TL for that. Took it on a 4200 mile trip back in May. New Mexico to Oregon, all around Oregon, and back. Averaged 32mpg! My Jeep is less then half that!
