Default Jeep cherokee "Wild sport"

Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a second jeep cherokee, it's a Jeep cherokee 2-door 'Wild sport' limited edition.
It's built may 2001.
Does anyone have some information on these? And do these 2-door models have other problems than the normal 4-door models?

Some pic's (Btw, that bull bar has got to go! )

A quick Google search turned up results nearly entirely in French. I've never heard of the "Wild Sport" edition.

The Cherokee Wiki page doesn't even list a "Wild Sport" trim model

Is this at dealership? Private seller?

Go host your images over on imgur (right click your image, copy image URL, paste into imgur uploader) and post the link in [IMG] tags.

I'm sorry about the photo's, always used imageshack and doesnt work anymore?
The only thing i know about the wildsport is that only 200 of them were made. Can't find anything else about it... Maybe it was made only for the european market?
It's sold by a private seller.

Something that i have to look after on the 2 door model? Problems that are different from the 4-door? Or are they exactly the same?

Have your insurance run the VIN or submit it to Jeep for a build sheet.

There's no such thing as a "wild sport" trim package. Someone just slapped that sticker on there at some point.

As for it being 2 door, get it. The doors and windows are the only difference between a 2 and 4 door. Otherwise they're exactly the same.

It looks like a sport and someone put a sticker on it that says wild. See how they aren't of the same font or material.

If severely built and abused, 2 doors are supposedly more susceptible to unibody failure (3 pillars to roof opposed to 4) but for anyone on this forum other than ktmracer it doesn't matter.

I did a quick Google Search on Jeep Cherokee Wild Sport and I found that it might be a rather rare Jeep Cherokee subgenre.

All of them that turned up in the search results have that odd spoiler-type thing on the third brake light and they all have those additional turn signal lights above the front fender flares.

I've never seen one myself.

The turn signal on the fender is just a European requirement. Look at every car in Europe, it will have those. The spoiler thing was probably also a standard Euro option on the XJ.

Seeing as how that is the case, it could be a big clue that this brand of Cherokee is Euro only.
