I have a 1998 jeep Cherokee and when it's cold it don't want to go into over drive any ideas ?

Here's an idea, fill out more information. And if u did anything to the transmission prior it happening? Etc

I have a 97 and it just started doing this also. When I find out what it is I will share what I found.

This is a common issue with the transmissions in these. It's a defect from the factory and there isn't much you can do about it. It will go into OD once it warms up a bit, just have to drive a few miles first.

Missed this yesterday, I thought about this possibility. But my few miles turned out to be 35 miles, 5 of this wheeling in low range before it warmed up enough to shift as it should.


What I am after would be why and where is the factory defect? I'm the type to drill ports larger in the valvebody if need be. Do you know where the defect is exactly? :)

Now you have me thoroughly intrigued and baffled Cruiser, lol

Not 100% sure on your year, and my photo may not apply to yours, but I know they won't lock up the torque converter if that switch is out of adjustment.

Who would have thought?
 

Wow, Incredible, Who would have thought? I'll have to dive into this and check it out. Not sure if this is good engineering or bad engineering :)
