So, I'm looking into possibly selling my xj, on Craigslist, not here, so don't worry that's why it isn't on the buy/sell/trade section. I have a 1989 jeep Cherokee xj Laredo. It has 231xxx on body/engine - trans/t-case has 167xxx recently installed, the original tranny went this winter and I found a used one and replaced it. The body is structurally sound. Has a few surface rust spots from a couple spots where dents made the paint pop. The interior needs some tlc. It has quite a few stains, the front seats have seat covers, mostly because I didn't feel like steam cleaning them at the time. It's all something that could be fix. The ceiling material is held up with fabric screws. And needs replaced the windshield is cracked about 2/3rds of the way across. It's running on a 4" super lift coil and shock combo with a k15 Add-a-Leaf. Tires are 31-10.5-15 Goodyear wrangler trail mark with only 5k miles on em. The rims are in great shape, just need a soap/water wash and they shine. The motor is a 4.0l renix MPI with a stereotypical AW4 auto tranny and a 242p t-case which allows full-time/part-time 4wd. The rear end is a Dana 35/drum break combo. Front end is the usual Dana 30 high pinion/disc break combo. It's mostly stock besides the lift and tired. Surprisingly I haven't taken it on trails much. More a daily driver, and a mess around on occasion vehicle. Any idea what I should think about pricing it for??? I do have pics if y'all want em. If this post is not within context or allow let me know and I'll remove it.

Couple grand, and that's an optimistic guesstimation.
Not a desirable year, engine is pushing a quarter million miles, different tranny doesn't matter because it's used, rust, inside needs tlc, cheapo lift, scrap differentials. Personally I dislike GoodYear so that would add no value.
Ask ~$1800, see what happens. That is my SoCal perspective, your local market may be way different.

Okay cool. Idk if this changes anything at all, but the jeep is really a nice white when it's clean lol. I guess sometimes the looks change minds. But the engine and interior are big issues.

A 3m eraser wheel will remove the glue from the bottom of the doors where the trim was with out hurting the paint. And maybe get a can of touch of spray paint for the flares.

A huge factor is the amount of rust under it on frame rails, floor pans, etc. could really drop that price even a lot.
Like the others have said though, "dead presidents speak in a loud clear voice" just depends on mow many they lay down.

This jeep is really clean. What you see for rust is about it. The hatch is fiberglass - cannot rust. The rockers are untouched. The hitch, cause it does have a Reese hitch receiver, (which not all had) has surface rust. The bumpers are 95% clean. There is one spot under the jeep that rusted thru and it's the strangest thing, easily fixable with a bit of plate and a welder. It's like straight above the exhaust, where the cross member is towards the back.
