Howling sound from front of engine
Was on my way home today and heard this weird sound coming from the Jeep. When i parked in the driveway I narrowed it down to the area around the ac compressor.
Its hard to describe, but it kinda sounds like when someone does the spooky ghost sound. Like ooooOOOoooooOOooooo. It's intermittent, and goes away when I give it gas.
Is it a pulley? I've never heard one sound like that. No metal grinding noise or anything.
I got some video of it. I'll upload it to youtube and post the link here when I get a chance.

Honestly I thought about calling a priest when I first heard it. It sounds even spookier from inside the vehicle. Here's the video.

Look at your harmonic balancer while you're at it.

Don't know. That was the first time I ever heard it, about two blocks from home. Have to go somewhere now, so I'll see if there's any kind of interval to it. Will report back later.

Also belt is as tight as its always been. Never had any sound from it. May be old but it doesn't sound like a belt.
Sound came back when I started the jeep. Seems to have gone away after idling

Hm. Jeeps are known for making odd noises, but that's a first! Maybe give everything a good coat of silicone spray and see if it goes away? Fixed my steering wheel squeak lol.

The only way you're gonna find what you're looking for is to GO LOOK!
Around the Jeep that is. In these parts, we call it "noggin pokin".
That's where you use your God given senses to inspect YOUR Jeep for problems. We can only provide you with guidance as to where to poke your noggin.
There's no Silver Bullet cure you're gonna find from a keyboard, mouse and monitor.

Dude seriously. I know how to figure stuff out with MY Jeep. I was just seeing if anyone has heard anything like this before. That is after all what this forum is about isn't it? Asking questions, seeing if others have had similar problems?

Correct. But, you have given no indication of checking any of the things posted by helpful members, that were already suggested in explicit detail. You just keep posting videos............
