howd you do your cb?
I just wired up my cb last night and i was just wondering how any of you wired yours and where you put your whip and everything. as of right now, I just put a bracket on my end cap by drilling two holes and put the bolts through there. then I just mounted the whip onto that. then i ran the wires along the sidewall so they were hidden like my stereo wires and then just put the radio between the passenger seat and center console. let me know how yall did it so I can steal your ideas if i like them!

interested in this as well. I had one wired with magnet antenna to test but it picked up noise when the ac/ heater condensor kicked on. Not trying to thread jack just watching and adding to the question lol

i made a mount that bolts to my passenger tail light and fits between the hatch and the body in the rear then ran an 18ft coax up to the front where the cb is mounted on the side of the center console next to the dash on the passenger side, it worked great until i sunk my xj in water now i need a new cb

I am pretty curious what kind of reception esteem gets, it does not look like the antenna mount is grounded very well. In my experience roof racks and tire carriers are not good CB antenna mounting locations, but you can do like 96_xj and ground the rack to make it work. I highly reccomend the purchase of an SWR meter to properly tune your CB antenna during installation. Getting your CB to transmit and recieve well is harder than most people think. Go here to see a great page with lots of tips and troubleshooting for properly setting up a CB.

ive got an old cobra radio thats tucked between the passenger seat and the center console, and ive got a firestik 4 foot antenna mounted on a bracket coming from the rear hatch, firestiks are cheap but work really well
my antenna and bracket are exactly like phillyxj570's
