haha yeah just having good connections makes it all the better. I work with the guy who owns that nice ol' garage there and he teaches me everything I need to know. I now know enough and got this beautiful little project Cherokee to start on!

I'm trying to sell my white 4.0 2d 4x4 Laredo with ~141,000 miles. 3 inch lift, roof rack, perfect interior, upgraded head unit, no rust besides one small spot on the passenger side rear fender. Pm me for pics and more info, located east coast near dc.

Default Rerouting exhaust

I had a question about shortening my exhaust and whether it would influence the engine. So I had the exhaust fall off on the engine side of the catalytic converter where it was clamped and I was able to get a new clamp and get it put back in place but on the other end of the exhaust on the back end after the muffler it was cut off (or also fell off) by the previous owner so I was thinking I would reroute it to come out behind the passenger door in front of the rear tire. It has a pretty bad rust hole right where i want it to come out so i was going to cut a hole out to stop the rust and bring the exhaust out there. I will be able to keep the catalytic converter but the muffler that is on it is much to big so id have to chop the exhaust behind the cat and get a smaller muffler or have it straight piped from the cat out. I'm just curious as to whether or not this would influence the engine or the way the vehicle ran or if I would need any specific tuning. Sorry for the long post! Any insight will help!

No, you'll be fine. It's quite common for guys to end their exhaust before the rear axle for offroad clearance purposes.

Have any of you guys ever seen a 2 door solar yellow or amber fire xj before? I've been hunting for a 2 door amber fire xj for the last 2 years and no luck.

Love mine, had it for about 10 years now. Replaced about 75% of the floor. Detailed pictures and such in my build thread. Recently picked up some doors for it to make into half doors.

Still have mine, it was my first car. 225k miles and still hauling ***. Cosmetic parts are getting a lot harder to come by though, pic below was a few years ago before the rubberdoor trim started peeling.

I had read somewhere 15% of all XJs were 2 door. However, majority of those are auto. It took me months to find a 5 speed 2 door.

One huge advantage with the 2 door that no one has mentioned. You can enlarge the rear fenderwells to accept larger tires and stuff them, say like 37s or 40s. Can't do that with a 4 door unless you move the axle back

I suppose an even more rare would be a 5 spd 2 door and 2wd XJ. Would be the lightest of them all.

I bought a 4 dr. Cherokee Laredo in 1990. I wanted a 2 dr. but we were starting a family so the 4 dr. made more sense. Twenty years later I finally got my 2 dr. It was a '95 that needed a fair bit of work. I did most of that work but decided to abandon it when a nice '89 2 dr. came along. That along with my '88 Comanche and '04 LJ are now my daily drivers. So at two 2 doors and one 4 door I don't consider them rare at all!

Old '95 ...

Current '89 ...

There's a red 2-dr, 4x4, 4.0, auto at the place I just got my 4-dr from. Is asking $2795 or some such, but he was asking $1895 + fees for mine, and I got it for $1500, taxes and fees included.

To all you 2 door guys I keep seeing this on Ebay.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeep-Cherok...IAAOSwFZZcKipz

I want to say that might be factory tinted glass. Despite the price tag that does not seem like a lot of money for those. Of course I would not know any better. I don't see many 2 doors in my area and the ones I do just have the one piece windows. I do know if I had a 2 door I would have to have them. LOL.
