Default How many Renix owners.

Just wondering how many renix owners have swapped their old closed pressure cooling system to the 91+ regular cooling system.

I want to eventually do this myself when I get my hands on the money just curious as to how many others have done this.

(I am bored at work so this is what I am posting haha)

I havn't and prolly won't. I own two Renix engines and the cooling system when working seems so much better than the open. I have busted one bottle but it was an easy fix.

Yeah, mine has only overheated twice, once because I idled for about an hour, with my radio up really loud, showing it off to my cousin. Another time was when I did not give it adequate time to warm up in the winter. The thermstat failed. Still runs fine. My aux. fan always kicks on before it gets too hot.

never seemed worth the time or effort to convert in my opinion. i've never overheated mine, and the stock bottle developed a minor crack a few month back that i finally decided to replace just in case it got worse.

I want to swap the cast iron valve cover on my Mercedes for the aluminum one on my jeep....lol I know, not possible at all but seriously, I ran the Mercedes for like a half hour the other day and it didnt heat up.

also, before resorting to swapping out the whole cooling system I am going to get my electric fan working, replace t-stat and flush the radiator.

I am not over heating (at least the light doesnt come on) but temp sensor could be broken too. Who knows. It just seems to get abnormally hot.

Normal for these is 210F. And doesnt cast aluminum disperse more heat than cast iron?

I'm not sure about the aluminum/cast iron thing.....Probably does. I am probably just paranoid about the heat thing though...I am not use to an engine being that hot.
