Default How do I fix a chipped windshield ?

Wondering if there are any kits available to fix cracks like this one.

Thanks in advance,
Albert.

Usually a glass repair place can fix that or replace it.

Call Safelite, or another company, and they'll fill that with a resin so you don't even see it.

If your insurance company covers you for it, like they do here in FL, then you might not even pay anything.

I don't think insurance will cover it..
I was thinking more around the lines of buying a DIY kit to fix it.
The center won't be that difficult but from what I read.. the cracks should be near impossible to fix.

That's right. Safelite. That's that company. Isn't too expensive. OP its better to have a professional do it. I made the mistake of ignoring a crack smaller than that. It grew during the winter and then once I came off a rock and it was a wrap

Working on glass is not a DIY thing trust me. A chip like that is a cheap fix anyway.

Alright, I'll take your advice..
But if there isn't a glass repair shop here what should I do ?
PS: I don't think Safelite operates in the Antilles..
There website doesn't say anything about it and I haven't seen them anywhere here

You can go with any company, even if not Safelite. But this isn't something you'll want to tackle yourself without the proper equipment, which these companies have.

Maybe you can call around?

I have fixed MANY spider cracks like that with a DIY kit from a auto parts store. Some were fixed as to be invisible. Others became almost invisible. The big thing you want to do is to stop it from spreading. Until you fix it. Do not park your Jeep in the sun with the widows up. The heat building from the inside will cause this to spread, get worse and your'll be stuck replacing the whole windshield. I'd give the DIY kit a try, It;s fairly fool proof from a process perspective. Easy to do. The cost of fixing this through a insurance claim is likely to be less than your deductible.
