Posting this up for my buddy. He had his XJ stolen Saturday morning from in front of his parents house in Etiwanda, CA. Its near the 210 and 15 freeways. If anyone sees it, please send me a message.

Had my YJ stolen a couple weeks back... RIGHT after I finished the build. ********
Did you end up getting it back or no? That really sucks I've had my truck almost stolen twice, and my very first vehicle (my Dakota) was also almost stolen. People are utter jerks when it comes to doing crap like this
I used to pull the rotor from the distributor of the Volkswagen's I used to own. It's a simple, and effective way to render your vehicle undrivable while you are away. No matter how good the thief is at hot-wiring or smashing glass.
Maybe an easier alternative would be to just take the center spark plug wire with you when you leave? You know, the one from the center of the cap to the coil?
If the thief keeps spares to foil such anti-theft attempts... well.. that's a dedicated fellow who REALLY wants your jeep and there isn't much you can do that won't get you put in jail to stop him.

I started taking out the master fuses from the truck until I made a Killswitch of sorts for it, i do like the disconnect at the distributor idea though

Nope.... pretty well have given up hope at this point.
I think this means it time for me to secure both my Jeeps from now on. I dont want either of them to go missing! I have one of those old steering wheel locks. You know the kind that has the arm sticking out so you cant turn the wheel? That will be step one. Step 2 will be a kill switch of some sort. These Jeeps are just too easy to get in and steal.

I have one of the wheel clubs and it's a helluva deterrent. I also suggest getting locking lug nuts for it as well and if you can mark it somewhere specific that only you would know I have all my vehicles have been marked by me in special spots so if I ever was trying to find them I would identify them immediately

YYYEEEESSSSSSS!!!!! I did the same after the YJ got jacked. Kill switch on both YJ's now and a steering wheel lock that also goes down and around both the brake and clutch pedals. Its a lil piece of mind.

You can bypass it in about 30 seconds.
Your best bet is to pull the fuel pump or other relays/fuses & or the coil wire.
The best part is that none of these cost a dime.
Back in the day, when our classics had metal dashboards, we would mount a hall effect switch and relay hidden behind the dash. It would require a magnet placed right on that particular spot on the outside of the dash to complete the ignition circuit. We used the same concept to unlock "smoothy" doors also. This same concept was also used for awhile to unlock and open handycap van doors.
