i was walking around in a junkyard in Colorado on my vacation 2 weeks ago and i found a cherokee pioneer. i saw it and had to have it so i pulled it and sent back to ny in my suitcase, and after a coat of vinyl paint(which i was impressed with) there it sits. my question is is this stock or did someone make this?

Pretty sure someone made it.

I like it though. Except that's where I put my arm.

Definitely homemade

I just wasn't sure the cuts are so clean

If you take your time and put effort towards something as useful as that anyone can have a very nice finished product! I like it.

Been struggling too. I bought a cup holder for boats n cruise bikes. I'd hoped it would work as I've used em before . Grrrr just cannot find a good spot.

good luck.

The paint doesn't feel sticky or tacky when you put your arm on it?

Was going to paint mine black but don't want paint on my arm.

Kudos buddy, why follow the tourist crowd to the mountains, fine restaurants or other places of interest, when there's perfectly good junkyards to prowl?

It's easy enough to just get some black vinyl or fabric and recover an armrest.
I like that idea, but I keep too much crap in my center console for that to work for me.

nno it dried in about 5 min and feels exactly like the vinyl that is under it it was more of a dye and its the duplicolor

Looks homemade. Someone did a good job at making it. Personally it's not for me. I have an OEM cup holder that fits over the parking brake. I have another one the fits in the gap between the center console and passenger seat. That one is from Walmart. Best part is that it sits next to my CB.

95Cherokee 06-25-2013 10:46 PM

You mean that little one inch gap.

bigsal39 06-25-2013 10:54 PM

best part is my center console is just about empty due to just getting this xj a month ago,and its all out of order with all my junk in the back seat. if you take the cup holder part out it will hold an arizona can. :D

I've looked at several aftermarket cup holders and I don't really like any of them. I guess I'm going to have to make my own. I thought up a couple of different designs, but the biggest problem is "where to mount it." The lack of cup holders and the tendency for my 4.0 to run way too hot are the only things about my Cherokee that I really don't like.

I swear I remember seeing somebody either here or on jeep forum making making that. The arm rest might be from a zj or something with a big rest and cut em out. Great find!
