so i just found a good deal on two doors for my 2dr xj. i want to make half doors with these for the summer and i was wondering if anyone on here has any tips or suggestions for doing this. also would like to know the difficulty of taking the doors off and putting them back on, what you did for security, and what you did when rain came about. thank you for reading hope to hear from everyone.

I had a 94 xj for a while that the pins for the hinges would just not come out of. I got a rachet and the right size bit for the bolts, and just unbolted the doors. For security I just stuck everything (including radio faceplate) in my glovebox since it locked. When it rained I got wet (before I had a "rain suit"). It poured one night at my buddies, flooded the jeep, so I got some heavy duty massive trash bags, and made a "rain suit". Worked great and was easy to fold up and shove in the center consol since it took up zero room.
For half doors take the doors and remove all the inside compents (glass, window motor, etc). Then measure where you want to cut to cut the bottom off at. I would mark it, then think it over for a day to make sure it's where you want to cut it. Once sure cut it off and the top part that surrounds the usw to be window. I've seen the bottoms just pinched together and welded, a piece off sheet metal cut to fit and welded, etc. Then setup the door handle however you want (be creative). I wish I had all my pictures from my xj build. My stupid computer crashed last month and I lost everything on it.
Good luck with them! I'll be making another set soon too when my build gets kicked off.
