Full width with stock suspension...
I know I know, sounds like a waste of effort. but for the most part I want to go wider, not higher. I'm looking at 3"front and 4" rear, and i want to do full width front and rear with a stock style suspension. I will beef it up, it just wont be a crazy 4 link or anything. just some stronger arms. what do you guys think? aside from the "jeeps gotta have everything that is removed replaced with a better part" problem, is it doable? I just dont have the money to drop on mush suspension modifications, but a full width setup is as easy as a trip to the jy and a few test while I'm there.

What a waste. Are u staying on stock tires?? Just put some spacers and new rims. Those axles will drag on flat ground if you don't put bigger meats.

I hadn't decided on what tires. but I'm not running with stock as it is. I only said it would be stock style suspension. Probably the same size tires they use on most full width pickups. like i said, I wanna go wide, not high. but I'm a fan of larger tires and all that.

do it up. a 44 and 60 wont drag badly on 35s. never stopped me from making an obstacle. 35s can fit just fine with 3" of lift. you can get great control arm angles with shortarms if you make your link mounts higher on the axle too. no real issues with fitting a larger axle in the back as there is plenty of room. but up front space will start to get tight with say a dana 60. doable, but for what you are trying to accomplish you will be plenty well off with a 44.

see, that's the encouragement I was looking for lol. ans 35's seem good, if a titty bit pricey. i do have a question, 6 lug or 5?

Lug pattern will be determined by what axle you use. Waggys are 6 lug but not full width. Ford and newer dodge are 5 lug but you can swap the outters for 6 or 8 lug. My 44 is 8 lug but by swapping knuckles out I could run 5 or 6. BTW my rear 60 got hung up all the time on 35s and still does on 38s. My front 44 is 67" wms to wms and stock is 61 so you could get the same width with spacers and wheels but it would be hard on bearings. Full width is nice except when I'm on tight trails with other jeeps.

I know you said you want to run a stock setup, but have you thought about getting rid of the short arms and doing long arms? You are already gona be doing alot of fabbing with mounts and such. It would be the perfect time to do up a set of long arms. Just a thought.

I don't see a lot of heavy trail use, it's mostly a daily driver. I know it seems like a waste, putting full width in a "mall crawler" but the only offroading I do is mud usually, and some minor water crossing. This is going top be a very slow build, consisting mostly of junkyard parts. I'd see heavier trail use but I dont want to leave myself stuck in a spot I cant get out of, so for now I want to build it till i think it's where I'm at for what i want to do. and I was considering long arms, but at the same time I want to get the axles done up first, then see what money i can pull for the next mod.

To be honest with you, I would spend my money on some lockers, skid plates, a winch. Those things will get you much farther than some big axles.
