hi all i just bought myself another jeep, a very tidy 1997 jeep cherokee 4.0,

the thing is the dash doesn't work an the air bag light is on, i read that there is a recall for this, just wondering if this is so, im in the uk,

Not sure if its the same on your side of the pond but here if its classified as a safety recall it never expires so yes it would still be covered, however if its listed as a customer satisfaction campaign there is an expiration date generally about 10yrs or so after it was issued. Prob have to check with a dealer to see if its still open or not.

i phoned jeep today, they said mine has already been done in 2004, but im sure the module is still under passanger seat, thought they moved it on recall, anyway i got my m8 to plug his computer in, an it came up with no faults, nightmare, so after reading a very helpfull thread on here i'll be going though the conectors an cleaning them up, an see how that goes.

can someone please tell me how i know my jeep has had a recall on the airbag module, mine is under left hand seat, (passanger as im in uk) im looking at getting another one to see if its the fault, but not sure if i have to get the same part number or not. may also change clock spring.
