Default Death wobble (not asking for help)

The XJ had its first DW tonight, hit a bump at 55-60mph and boom it got the shakes. Nothing violent but it was definitely there.

Anyway, it got me wondering. How many of you have dealt with it? I know it’s common but does it happen to the majorly of XJs?

Mine had it when I first got it, bad ball joints, track bar, and control arm bushings was the cause.

Mine had it after I installed my 3.5" lift. In my case, it was my TREs. Installing Crown's HD steering kit (basically the same as ZJ steering) took care of the death wobble.

2 out of the 6 Jeeps (5 XJ 1 WJ) I have owned had dw. One was just the track bar. The other I could never figure out. And sold it that way....

Mine never got to to full-blown death wobble but I'd get some shake when hitting bumps which was slowly getting worse over time. Replacing the track bar took care of it.

I honestly would have though it would have been more than that for someone that has owned that many.

I’m going to begin tackling mine in the next couple days. Hopefully it’s something obvious.

I’m still sitting stock so at least I don’t have the added question mark of a lift.

I’ve been reading about it long before I had an issue and it seems like the track bar is in the equation quite often.
