Custom interior
#173
I recently refinished my entire interior. Originally it was the standard grey for a cherokee country, with cloth seats and door panels. Got some tan leather seats from a cherokee limited, reupholstered the doors, replaced the carpet, reupholstered the headliner, reupholstered the steering wheel, and painted EVERY single interior trim piece with Krylon followed by a finish coat of vinyl coating and satin clear. You cannot scratch this stuff off. I was debating selling my jeep and buying a land rover discovery because I love their interiors, but I love too much about my cherokee. Just needed a little update inside. Also, with everything out I put dynamat (not the name brand though) all over the floor pan, and used around 70 sq ft of fiberglass insulation in every nook and cranny I could. It's silent inside now, and feels really solid, a whole different vehicle to drive. Hope you like it, pictures are attached

Everything has held up quite well, though I sold the vehicle about 2 years ago so I can't speak to how it is today. I had it for about 2 years after I finished the project, and in that time I did have to repaint the tail gate trim cover but that's all. I don't think I did a good enough job prepping it for paint, got lazy by that point. If you use steel wool to rough up each panel and mineral spirits to clean everything properly the krylon plastic paint should stick well.
I was most surprised that the door sill trim pieces held up so well even with constant contact/abuse. It's all about the prep!

Killer Job !
I got inspired by your Sound Bar, and how you mounted the Tweeters. Clearly, those are bigger than OE. I got 6" separates with the intention of mounting them on Bar, but am worried about the flimsy fiberglass.
Did you, or has anyone else who happens upon this Thread, reinforce the piece to hold more "speaker weight" ? Would simply adding layers of FG do it ?
Thanks !

I LOVE the bungee cords holding the belts out of the way for work. Simple but effective. I have argued with the belts countless times in a couple vehicles doing similar work.
How much noisier is the ride now with no carpet/sound deadening?

it is not that bad, it is just a lot hotter. I honestly would not have done it though if it didnt have a leak.
