My brother payed the same price with the same mileage on his 97

Ralkyon 05-18-2011 09:40 PM

That's 9k for like, 200,000 more miles. Doesn't seem too bad.

Char92dj8 05-18-2011 09:46 PM

Yeah it seems high
I mean, i can find jeeps on craigs list
for 1500 with LESS miles
But from a private owner, this
is a dealer, and dealers are stealers!

xjmarc 05-18-2011 09:47 PM

Wow I'd give them maybe half that at the most.

Jmb94 05-18-2011 09:49 PM

And it has a huge rip in the seats, and all the plastic's faded. The only way I could see 9k for an eleven year old XJ would be if it was like under 40k miles and completely mint.

I'm weary of anything over ten years old with less than 100k. Makes you wonder if it was sitting and if so why. Oil is prob way old too since if you go by mileage it's only been changed like 17 times in 11 years.

Same he in NJ price isn't much different, the three colors that hold there value the most in NJ. I don't know if its the same everywhere else but in order are that blue the charcoal gray and bright yellow. I really wanted gray instead of silver but not work and extra 2000$ on the price tag.

Jmb94 05-18-2011 10:53 PM

I think a part of my sticker shock is that XJ's are generally pretty inexpensive here, but part of it is the fact that it blue books for like 3k less.

That Jeep is worth maybe $3-4,000. 9K? LMAO. Forget about it. Ain't nothin' royal about that Jeep nor the name of the dealership.

I agree to a point..I got my 91 two years ago with 73k on it...it was dragged behind a motor home all its life by an elderly couple...oh and I paid 600.00 :)...just depends on who owned i. whoever owned that one on CL was a lard a$$ to tear up a seat in that amount of miles.
