considering one buyin this cherokee tell me what you think

i wanna build an xj for a "pure trail rig" thats still street legal to drive to the trail and back. nothin really more considering i have a daily driver. just not to found of towing trail to trail. anyways found this deal today and im contiplaiting wether to buy it or not the guy says the only thing wrong with it is that it needs a new exhaust manifold and engine control module. now im not to worried about the manifold because im sure i could pick those up at a junk yard but the ecm is where im kind of worried. i know modules can be pretty expensive(REALLY expensive) from first hand experience working at a ford dealership but idk anything price wise about jeep modules. anyways its a 91 xj 4.0L with 198,000 miles on it tell me what you think and if you have any idea about how much an ecm would run me thatd be great too

too much
and the fact that it needs a new ecu seems kinda weird. They dont just randomly die.
Sounds like theyre trying to cover soemthing up.

i was thinking the same thing. im kinda thinking about pickin and ecu up and takin it up there when i look at it and be like well do you mind if i hook this up and see what happens. and if dudes sketch about it then yea but if its good idk. and its kinda funny because in the add it says engine runs good and everything and how could he prove that without and ecu? ahahaha
