I got these on ebay. They have clear lenses but black housing. Helpin me go all black although I'm sure they'd give an updated look to any XJ.

Yeah. Check to see what part number the manual (yes, I know, they're "worthless") says. it needs to be a direct match. I got generic replacements for my friends ZJ and either the impedance or ohms or some electrical thing was different and caused them to blink fast as hell. We swapped in 5 different fuses before finding out it was the light.

Pull your bulb and get the exact same number but with an "A" or "NA" suffix. An "A" bulb is a painted amber and will be slightly less expensive. A "NA" indicates that it is natural amber which means that the glass is actually made amber, not painted.
For example, my side markers were originally # 194 bulbs, so I replaced them with # 194NA bulbs.
