When they said there were "no stupid questions", they didn't know I'd buy a Jeep. First what is the purpose of the one gold lug?

Second, what is the little black dome by the rear view?

The one gold lug is nothing special, its a regular lug nut that the chrome cover came off. Not sure of the black ball is.

The gold lug means its super fast and the little black dome is for keyless entry.

The lug is either new or the little cover came off.

Thanks, I noticed several XJ's at the jy with the odd nut, only one and only on one wheel, Thought it might be intentional, but couldn't figure what for. I took the cover off the dome, saw the wires, keept thinking temp, or auto dim mirror, never thought of keyless. I don't have the orig key, I'll read up on the "key fob". I remember seeing some posts on that.

My key fob stopped working. Changed the batteries, still doesn't work. Stealership wanted some ridiculous cash for a replacement, so I used the key for about a week and then stopped locking my doors. Several months and no trouble yet in Maryland or in DC lol

I've seen them pretty cheap on eBay. I actually bought one and ended up sending it back because it didn't work. Never did get another one.

I read on here that eBay fobs don't work unless it's reprogrammed by a dealer. Didn't wanna pay that, either. To some people, I'm sure it's worth it. For me, it isn't.

the black dome is a government spy camera, don't let them fool you about keyless entry.

its for keyless entry, and on some newer non jeep vehicles they use a similer dome on the dash for day time driving lights. odd

X2 on the keyless entry

From your rims I can tell you have the country package, most of them came with locking lugs. Maybe that's what it is? Can't be sure from the picture
