The 2011 WK2.
Yeah.
I'm not looking to buy one by any means, I'm just split on it.
Half of me is a stubborn old Jeep guy, I want solid axles, and a 4.0L. I want to be in control of the vehicle of all times, not some computer. And the fact it's a last gen Mercedes Benz M class wearing a mask burns me up. And I don't trust air suspension to save my life.
BUT
The new style is growing on me. The advertising is damn good (probably half the reason I like it) I like gizmos, and it's offered with a Hemi. From what I've gathered, they're decent off-road out of the box (provided you get the Quadradrive II t-case). I got the low down on one a few months ago at Jeeptoberfest in Ocala FL (although after asking for an hour they still wouldn't let me take it on the course).
So I'm bleh. Whats your insight?
Yeah.

I like total control straigh axles. The hill decent mode and traction controll just doent appeal to me. I see it as a car for a family that goes camping and they might hit a dirt trail to get to the camp sight. An offroader that wants a new vehicle will still go with the Jk. And i dont trust the air suspension either, ive seen it fail and it sucks when it does.
If i had the money to buy one, id just fix up an old Scout II. Thats my dream vehicle.

There's too many threads on here about this thing... myself like alot of others think it's crap (know as far as I'm concerned), and then alot of younger people seem to think it's the fast and the furious and absolutely love it. I say this topic is just asking for another all out brawl on the forum.

I'd say the ones with the black moab rims and what seems like a small lift and agressive tires looks pretty beefy for some reason. Though i would never buy one they look cool

i can't say that i'm in love with it, but i'd definitely take it over most other mall crawlers advertised. seems like a comfy ride for the family. with a lil lift and some aggressive rubber, we can cruise down to the mall in style.

I'm 18.....I'm not a fan of the new WK's or whatever they are. Gimme a 4.0 anyday of the week. Like I say about the new stuff, its looking too much like a luxurious suv....

I like it alot. But like dude454 said, it's a family car. Not a bogging offroad truck. I like jeeps and I like using 4x4 on snow days so this would be a great jeep as a DD.
