Can I use a 235/75/15 (factory Spare) with my 32x11.5x15's if emergency, and for a short amount of time? Will it F up the Jeep.
I will get real size spare soon only am a bit tight on funds at the moment. I also don't really have a good mounting spot at the present.
Which leads me to ask the following...
I don't think I want a tailgate/hatch swinging mount.
I was thinking about a roof rack which will serve multiple purposes.
If I throw a spare atop a rack (without specific mounting accessory), will I be able to lock it to the rack to secure? this way I can also have Hi Lift, and Axe/Shovel to carry.
Lastly, what type of rack would you recommend, and is securing it to the factory Rack Rails as good as to the body itself or vice versa? I'm not sure if any the racks are mountable either way, or if they are specific to only one method of mounting. Funds are to be considered.
Sorry if confusing..
Many thanks!

Any spare is better than no spare. Spare, don't leave home without it.
How many cars out there have the mini donut spare?
Just stay out of 4x4.
If you trail, you will need to run 4x4 and need a full size (equal size) spare.
For the interim, carry what you got. You'll only need it if you don't have it.
As for the rest of us. When was the last time you checked your spare for air?
If you don't have air in the spare, how will you air down?

The most expensive cars I ever sold didn't come with a spare. You do get a can of fix-a/flat though, not bad for $163000.

If you have a limited slip diff or a locker in the rear, the miss-matched spare goes on the FRONT. Open diff, it can go wherever the flat is. And it's 2wd until your tires match again.
As far as racks go, there are roof options out there. On mine, I have a Yakima basket with a tire mount that can hold a tire and three or four gas cans. Also have room to mount my kayak along side the rack. It's mounted to Yakima crossbars mounted to the factory rack tracks. The only problem with Yakima is that they (and their local dealer) are kinda proud of their stuff $$$
