I used to just drive it. Keeping an eye on the coolant level adding as needed. Take about 3 maybe 4 days. But I don't drive much either. Last coolant change I bought this:

Thing works great. Hook it up, always make sure there is some coolant in there, keep the engine at about 1500 rpm, in about 1/2 hour good to go.

They make this one now. Clear funnel makes it easier to see that you have coolant in there. Also to keep the rpm steady I hook up my little scanner that lets me see live data, keeping an eye on the rpm's and operating the throttle from the engine compartment so I can keep an eye on the coolant level in the funnel.

x2 for owning a Lisle spill free funnel. Easy-peasy.

x3! real happy with it. bleeding the system was a pain trying to get the jeep on different inclines in a parking lot to get the air out

just be careful not to be an idiot like me and leave the jeep running for 15 minutes, start spilling coolant everywhere (because fluid expands so it overflowed the funnel), get the genius idea to plug the hole with the stick in the kit and then watch as the pressure built up to shoot all that hot mess over the engine bay and on my forearms. i ended up ok but learned a lesson that day haha. once the jeep reaches operating temp don't leave it running too long. do a couple cycles if it's what it takes, and don't fill the funnel too much.

From the FSM:

REFILLING
(1) Tighten the radiator petcock and the cylinder
block drain plug(s).
(2) Install grille.
(3) Fill system using a 50/50 mixture of water and
antifreeze as described in the Coolant section of this
group. Fill radiator to top and install radiator cap.
Add sufficient coolant to reserve/overflow tank to
raise level to FULL mark.
(4) With heater control unit in the HEAT position,
operate engine with radiator cap in place.
(5) After engine has reached normal operating
temperature, shut engine off and allow it to cool.
(6) Add coolant to reserve/overflow tank as necessary.
Only add coolant when the engine is cold.
Coolant level in a warm engine will be higher
due to thermal expansion.

What I do...just to be sure...once the above has been done, when the motor is cool, open the rad cap, add 50/50 mix, until full. Repeat the above. Have ended up adding a small amount of coolant every time. So, fill, top overflow, run with heater full tilt, cool, top off reserve, but open rad cap again, top off rad, top off overflow, run full tilt again, and Robert is your Dad's brother.
