Don't know about a race but for off road SA all the way but at the same time blazer/jimmy's have a truck frame vs, XJ unibody.

Ya I beat like 3 or 4 off the line(they are about as fast as Rodeos, I have beat a few of those too), but had one d!ck in a Jimmy floor it a few cars back and I(regrettably) waited to floor it too late but by 80 I had stopped his pull and was starting to pull on him. But SA can be a liability because it's less stable on the trail and the pumpkin diff slows it down and catches mud and snow(so not as good in those either, supposedly), as a few Blazer guys have told me.

highly doubt a POS blazer would run long enough to finish a drag race

I had a 93 pos blazer that I just sold about 3 weeks ago. i have always been a chevy fan until that thing. Long story short alot of headaches and alot of money I got sick of working on it. A real good friend of mine on the forum told me about a jeep he new about that needed some work so I went and checked it out and drove it and sold my blazer about a week later and that is the jeep in my pic. 244,000 miles and runs better than the blazer with 104,000!! There is no comparison in my opinion.

I'd rather walk then own a Blazer. There isnt a thing out a Chevy Blazer that I like. I used to like them but then I started working on them. Hate em with a passion.

For the first question, you drive a cherokee not a race car. There for a race is pointless and stupid unless you are 16 years old. Then stupid stuff like that seems to make sense. And two off road sa is better than ifs in most cases.

TRUTH, xjs are slow, get over it. they are made to go off road, not fast.

And no, whatever the dumb hillbilly s10/blazer folk tell ya about how bad solid front axles are, they are just trying to hide the fact the its superior in alot of way. Sure IFS is awesome in a custom built buggy that has crazy articulation, but the POS ifs on the blazers is the biggest turd and waste of metal.

Is IFS or SFA better in mud? I don't think it matters, but not sure...

xj's are slow ? have you ever been in an 18 second Toyota 4runner or a 160 hp Explorer OHV or a cabuerated Isuzu Rodeo or a Nissan Pathfinder or any of it's competitors ? Have you been in v8 silverados and F150's and Rams ? Or V6 mustangs and Camaros ? Yeah our XJ will run with those or beat them too. It's fast for what it is.... people don't expect a jeep to be as fast as our xj's are. With a 4.6 stroker you can run low-mid 14's, which is right up there with auto lt1 f body's and 5.0 Mustangs.

Wow this fourm really hates blazers I see but IMO IFS just flat out sucks, no articulation, weak, and hard to lift.
