Bet your diff fluid never looked as good as this!
So yeah, my front diff fluid looks ****in awesome!
This pic doesnt include the baseball sized clump that just plopped out, that had the consistency of clay...
Its gear oil and silt...ok, ALOT of silt...
Im just glad it was silt and not sand, or anything coarser.
How does this happen? ...You say?
From not thinking to check it after something like this...
(if you remember this thread from me)
And then drive it for another 3-4 months afterwards.

I was expecting a nightmare, but It actually looks in decent shape still!
Will know more tomorrow, when I finish.
Yeah, it pretty much looks exactly like mud.
I developed a shake at 45mph+ after driving on the interstate, to and from work, for a few days (I rarely drive on any highways), which made me inspect my front end, and found that my diff fluid was rather "unfluid like". More like a grease, that had oozed out from the left axle side, which prompted this ASAP as well as replacing the seals.
Will know more tomorrow, when I finish.

i'm not sure i want to see what my fluid looks like, i doubt the last owner took any care of my xj... can't be as bad as that tho
