What is a good way to protect my alt. Wen going through high water and mudd?

Clean it.

For snow I have a little guard that keeps the snow from building up in there. Might work for mud as long as you keep moving but water will always touch the alternator. Its designed to be fine in water, its mud you have to worry about.

Search around a bit and you can find a thread that tells how to move your alt to where your A/C compressor is located.

Probably not a good idea of you wanna keep your A/C though.

But that will really help keep it out of harms way.

Would a skid plate offer any more protection agianst mud? Because i tend to get my whole engine capartment dirty...i mean its hard to tell theres even an engine in there
