My 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 4.0 engine shows engine light on. Doing the key thing I get a code "33" then code "55" showing end of codes. The "33" indicates a problem in A/C clutch relay circuit. A/C works fine, no issues so I took it in to shop where a year ago they installed all new A/C. They said that with their code reader there was no code, and all aspects of the A/C is working fine. Could there be some other problem or are these guys ********?

You should be getting codes 12 and 55 if all is good. Also you can have codes tripped w/o the CEL being on. Beings your missing code 12 there could be a problem with your OBD system. I'd get your codes checked again.

Thank you EZ. I will start tearing into that. Looks easy to replace if I can find one. As a last ditch effort I unhooked the battery, grounded out the positive lead and tried it again w/o any luck. Looks like the expensive fix then.
