99 cherokee no start

Default 99 cherokee no start

just cranks and cranks and cranks no start

fuel gauge reads no gas

no cel

unplugged cps stil reads no gas ( i don't think its the cps but i could be wrong )

clean and checked all connects

checked fuzes

im stuck and don't know what else to do. it was running for a little bit but i had to keep my foot on the gas. i took it off and it stalled out. since then it hasn't started just keeps cranking. if anyone can help i would appreciate it. thanks

Check the fuel pressure.

My 99 does that when it's low on coolant or oil. Yes I know that doesn't mechanically make sense.

I did find the coolant line disconnected but I plugged it back in still nothing. as far as oil it doesn't leak any so I'm not sure.


I think If I diagnose the fuel gauge problem it should start. Anyone know why a fuel gauge would stop working ? I have the dummy gauges btw huge fuel no rpm.

When you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump prime?

Not sure don't really have a way to test it. & the 99 has a distributor and don't they go bad around 108k?

Pull a plug and plug it back into the wire, then hold the threads of the spark plug against your - battery terminal. Then have someone try to start it

DO NOT DO THIS!! You do not want a spark near the battery, the battery can explode and your day will be ruined.

Bad advise bro lol. Spark+battery fumes= boom!

That's why a tat covers my lower left arm. Battery exploded in my face.

When you found the coolant hose disconnected, did you check levels?
