Default 87 Waggy Owner - Newbie starting out.

I am starting out from scratch with a 1987 Waggy and would like to hear some suggestions on how to spend the first $500.00 - $700.00. Thanks

Welcome!

I'd start with regular maintenance. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coolant flush, oil change, diff fluid chance, tcase fluid change, etc.

From there I'd look into a slight lift, maybe a budget boost or 3" lift, depending on how much the upkeep cost you.

BDS 3" lift will run you about $500.

I literally have nothing to suggest, I just wanted to say that every time I see a Wagoneer, I think of Harry and the Hendersons.

I checked out your pics! Man, that thing is sweet! Clean as all!

So with the money you have what were your first thoughts of to do? Were you wanting to keep it simple or looking to go B@!!s out?

I really want to keep it as a daily driver but build it up enough so that it keeps me and the kids interested and always have a project to work on. We have a really nice ORV park in Hot Springs and I would like to get my kids interested in Wheeling.

I'd say start with a 3" lift and 31's. You can always build on the 3" if you want to later and it'll keep the dd feel.
