Sounds like way too much to me, but i don't know how hard they are to find in Hawaii. I would say normally no more than $3,000 because of its condition, although i doubt they would come down that much.

there are tons on craigslist there. and some really good deals. but 9 grand will get you a nice tj.

Yeah that's what I thought, I just paid $3400 for a nice built '97 with 100k miles about two months ago.
Just wanted to make sure there wasn't something special about the '86 model I wasn't missing haha.

I hear they have good Wacky Tabacky in Hawaii but this guy is nuts. If you pay more then 5 bucks for an XJ made before 87 you have got serious problems in your head. That is unless it is in awesome condition and you are already planning a V-8 conversion with an LS1 motor and appropriate drivetrain to handle it. basically nothing original being used.
