Well this is my 4th jeep and third cherokee.

i still have a lifted, 4 door, 4wd auto 98 cherokee.

But over the weekend i picked up for just $330 a 2wd, 2door, manual cherokee from 1994. i have rarely seen a manual cherokee or a 2wd, 2 door seems sort of rare - is this indeed a rare find? The guy i bought it from had purchased a brand new vehicle and was going to scrap this, so i gave him what the scrap yard would have given him. He claimed it has a welded differential so it is 'posi trac' in the rear.

i would certainly hate to have it as my primary, but i am hoping the mileage will be much better than my lifted auto - which gets 13-14mpg. Bodys not in good shape but i plan on repainting it khaki tan with black accents.

It's just the cheapy municipal version, is it a Flintstone (YABA-DABA-DOO, keep your feet on the 2X4)mobile?

no, it runs well. starts right up, doesnt stall. exhaust fell off right before the catalytic converter so its loud. the interior is really crappy due to the guy never cleaning it out, i found $21.45 in change just on the floor.

I have seen a couple 2wd 2 doors in the junkyard and several on Atl Craigslist. Rare but not desirable.
The 4wd 4.0 ax15l 2 door is the holy grail .
