Default 2000 Sport 4wd for 16 year old's birthday

Little brother is getting a 2000 cherokee sport 4wd for is birthday and I wanted some ideas for what to do with it. He wants two 12 inch subs by the wheels. He likes surfing skiing and skateboarding and camping so roof racks are essential. Thanks for everything and please post any helpful links.

A small lift and a set of 31s will get him most places he could want to go.Maybe a basket for the so he can strap down his surf board or skis.

Make sure all of its maintenance is up to date and he has some savings is standing by for what inevitably will go wrong in the next year before he starts dropping money on expensive toys.

If it has not been replaced Yet the head is a known issue with cracking on all of them in the 00/01 model years.

Thanks guys the vehicle has been inspected and everything is fine so it's toy time! A basket sounds pretty good and lifting it does to since he will undoubtedly go off roading please keep suggestions coming. Many thanks! P.S. what diameter wheels and how high should it be lifted? He has to be able to get around town no problems but also needs a lift to get him through medium terrain and inclines.

2.5-4.5 inch lift would be a nice setup for what your thinking because it keeps it useful as a daily. i would stick with the standard rim size and just move up tire size. make sure you do everything right the first time so you dont have to do it agaian.

New rear hatch lift struts so they don't bash his head while unloading, leaving him to be fed on by rabid animals at the beach!

A 3" full leaf/coil spring lift like from Rustys Off Road is a quality made in NA entry level kit the comes with the leafs, coils, shocks, new hardware (all for $438). Only extra needed is an Adj. Track Bar and maybe a transfer case drop kit. Then a set o9f 5 15x8" steel wheels with 3.75-4" of BS this is important (can be bought for $40 and up) and a 31x10:50x15" tire.

If you go higher than a 3" lift the cost increases many times with all the extras that are needed to go along with it.
