Default 2000 Jeep Cherokee SE 4-Dr 2WD 6cyl Auto

Opinions on purchasing a 2000 Jeep Cherokee SE 4-Dr 2WD 6cyl Auto. I really like Cherokees and don't plan on doing much wheeling if any at all. It will be my daily driver for when I cant ride the 599. Price is $4,978. Mileage is 135,284. I know about the head issue and I will definitely look at that before I buy but I am just looking for opinions.

I paid a little over 4k for my 99 with 20,000 miles a few years ago.- It is 4x4 and came with the tow package/skids I was looking for. I think the price is too high. Hard without pictures but with no 4x4 (weather you will use it or not), high millage (not really for an XJ but for a used car) that seems like a lot of money. The KBB for that Jeep is my area in "Excelent" condition is only 3073$. "Good" condition is a whopping 2948.

Seems way high to me too, especially for a two wheel drive with no power options and potential head issues. You should be able to find something cheaper, like around 3k or less from a private party for a really nice two wheel drive. If you need to get a loan through a dealership, definitely talk them down from 5k.

Weird price. Dealer?
Ripoff. 135k XJ should run $3k or less.

Don't buy a 2WD, period.
They have no resale market, and cost to same to fix.

Ok so I missed out on that 2000 so I would like an opinion on this one now.

If you guys thought the price was not good on the 2000 I would imagine you all think the same thing on this one as well?

Stop shopping at these flippers. $6000 is a total rip off.

You need a serious reality check on prices before you get ripped off.

Look at what XJs are selling for on Ebay

I checked out the CL ads for his area. Let me tell you, I've never seen so many Grands listed as Cherokees. Mind blowing I tell you. I can sort of see why he's hung up on the dealership, at least they know what the hell they're selling.
