these are the intakes and whats broken and the difference between the 2 can egr be used on one without with it capped off or do i need to get the correct one

Who says you need egr cap the egr line off or run to intake hose or throttle body if you have an extra hose line!

my original does not have egr 5.2 will the intake still work in mine ? cause if so i have to pre prep it for cleaning and if u say cap off the means a screw hole and a plate and a cork screw for the back need to get this jeep back on the road asap will it work ?
also my dash say coolant sensor bad which one is it ?

I wouldnt use it, too easy to develop a vacuum leak on a fab'd plate to block it off. And too tough an area to work if it did..

I'd hit the local yard and get an intake off a 96+. Then install a new plenum and intake gaskets before installing it. I'v done these 5.2 manifolds a few times, lotta work to not get it right and have to redo.

well going to the junkyard to grab a intake in the am old one is shot housing bolts no good and sensors are broken alt is also shot so i have to get one of those used its got 226,000 on it trans was over hauled at 200 all new internals runns excellent and the intake has never been touched untill now the gaskets were dry causing an oil leak now its time to replace since i have a coolant problem engine runs fine been parked for a while no start till today say 4 months gona fix it and on a bad budget $120 so hope i can get what i need and get this beast back on the road

well its raining so my day got shut out so gotta wait till tomorrow to get them parts i need and maybe i'll have it running again

Do yourself a favor and do the thermostat and that small coolant hose while your in there...

Be sure to torque the manifold bolts to spec and in sequence. Over tightening the manifold bolts can actually crack the engine block around the lifter valley and webbing around the camshaft. Sounds strange, but it can happen.

i have the follow up on tsb for the intake and the sequence on the bolts this trucks been leaking for some time and the bolts for the housing were stripped so kinda had to snap bolts not happy but should have a new one this morning but it wont be in till i get it cleaned out in my solutiona tank and all new gaskets.

also theres a hose in back by the transmission its dry rotted and broken off but where does this hose go it ran some where i know it goes from trans to the motor somewhere so if anyone has any ideas let me know i'll take a pic and i have 2 wires ones yellow and ones brown the yellow wire goes to the fuel injector plug in the brown i think is a ground both were not hooked up

mxpxpunkrock1987 09-29-2012 11:13 AM

got the parts today golden now just gots send to clean in solution tank and clean it up might do it all today and reassemble monday even got the alt i paid $20 for 2 alts a ecu and the intake and took them off myself wowzers

That rotted line.. rubber? Have a cap on it? That would be the trans breather tube.. iirc it should attach to firewall. You probably need a new one..

Pics of the electrical plugs if you can. But i'd suspect they are pressure sender, are they single wire?

mxpxpunkrock1987 09-29-2012 06:06 PM

ok the two wires are the alarm to some stuff the vacumm line in rear i saw and noted another line i found melted but theres a cap that should be on it that back one i have the breather and a new tube got the piece and a pipe today
