Have been looking into swapping one of these into my XJ. Yes I will run a radius arm suspension. Does any one know if the driver side can be narrowed to waggy inner length? 15 1/2 inches give or take a little. Not sure how much axle tube is available with the cast on wedges and mounts.

I would try to find a 77.5, that should be a high pinion without cast mounts. High end aftermarket Ford style radius arms are kind of pricey and 4-link is preferred by most people. Not sure about narrowing it though

You'd have to retube it because the driver side is all cast.

It's just a thought right now. I can get the 79 dana 44 and rear 9 inch for free, just have to go take them out. Kind of weighing my options as free is not always better. thanks

i agree with the people above. id look for a 1977 or older. those mounts are welded on so you can just cut them off and weld new mounts on

Older than 77 would be a low pinion.

The easiest way i see doing it is getting a truss and mounting tabs from tntcustoms and use your jeeps stock suspension.
