Ok so I came across this article where two guys take a Jeep Modified by some aftermarket co on a little expedition. The kicker is that this thing costs $120,000. It seems to be just about the perfect vehicle for this type of wheeling. What do you think of it?

Nope. Give me a used xj and 115000 dollars and I will put that thing to shame and go on vacation for a year:thumbup:

:notworthy:
didnt think the best possible answer would be the first one!

Im pretty sure my xj could get the done!

That thing is pretty badass. It's like an off road RV.
"The EarthRoamer includes a toilet, a fridge, a shower, a topside bed that deploys at the touch of a button—indeed, everything plus the kitchen sink. Parts of the trail have been ravaged by fire, not to mention a massacre. We were involved in neither."

^ HAHA yeah, i like the way it's written. hrere's a link to a better "specs" page rather than an article more about the trip than the Jeep.

I want one. It would be great to have EVERYTHING you could possibly need on an adventure like that and still have plenty of room to move around. Sign me up!

Give me 120k and i can make a fleet of badass offroad XJs.

stock95sport(for now) 08-16-2012 02:32 PM

Oh i totally agree, but this is, i think, aimed more at the "who gives a F what it costs" crowd. for example, if i win powerball this weekend, i'd buy one.

Looks like it should be pulled by a Horse.

After building my XJ, I could find better uses for the $110,000 left over.

Hookers and blow.

If I lived in it full time? Maybe...

Fridge? ARB Cooler
Beds? Tent or sleeping bags in the back of my XJ
Storage? I got a roof rack and a hitch rack.
Hot water shower? I have a 5 gallon black plastic camp shower for $8
Heater? Campfire or my alcohol camp stove
Toilet? Ever heard of the Bumper Dumper?

I think you'd probably come out cheaper taking a small Winnebago, putting a lift and 4WD system in it, then put on some off road armor and a winch.

I'm like the rest, it's cool but not $120,000 cool. For that it should at least have a stronger engine to haul it's load or have a snorkel
