01 XJ 60th Anniversary w/ LOW miles - What is it worth?
So this is for my XJ. Not sure it belongs in For Sale since not sure it is being sold.
Wife took new job which includes company car. I am original owner of 2001 XJ 60th Anniversary in Black. Mechanically it is stock, no lift or anything it didn't come with.
It is in really nice shape outside of roof rust (LOTS of small areas/specs but no holes or anything close), and some hail dings on hood. Other than that general scratches/dings from normal life.
It has wood grained dash/door cards I added, and a nicer stereo system that is a year or so old (Pioneer HU, 5 channel amp, 4x6.5s and 2x12s in back).
Everything on it works well and it has been well maintained/cared for.
The main thing that seperates it is it has 72,500 miles on it.
I planned on driving this thing until it fell apart, but with no need for a 3rd car I am thinking it will be sold.
What is it worth (in Chicago area)? I know the low mileage is getting hard to find, just not sure how much it adds and how much roof rust, etc take away.

6-8k. Those dings and rust spots will bring it down. Dealer would probably be 8-10k. Miles around 100-120k I see on craigslist for 5-6k.
Keep those miles low, it won't depreciate much if you keep it.

Price it at $7,500 obo and you'll eventually get $6,000 for it. Judging from the picture, it has saggy leaf springs.
Personally, the low mileage thing never got to me. It's a 4.0 liter. I'd feel better knowing it was driven more.

The 60th Anniversary is basicly different rims and a few badges which isn't worth any extra to us.Hail damage and rust in the roof would knock the price way down to me.I say 5k ball park for it.

LOL. That may be a reasonable price in Kentucky but I suspect it's a little low for the big city. Dealer prices for low mileage (65k-85k) XJs here in the Southwest are right around $9500 so I would list it at $8500 and expect to get $7500. Kelley lists Blue Book value at $8,245 for "very good" condition... some cosmetic issues but otherwise, solid.

It's worth what someone will pay for it. Around here I would guess $6500 if you're lucky. If it were mine I'd list it for $7500 and see what interest you get, but your area may demand a higher price than mine.
