ZJ Rear bumper
 

OK since purchasing my 98 ZJ I have found that the rear bumper is not being held on by much at all. With that being said I decided to fab up a steel replacement for the plastic junk that is there now.

I am going to be using an older chevy step bumper as the base for the bumper. I just like the step bumper plus it already has the option to put a hitch ball on it. Started working on it today although didn't get much done.

First pic shows what I started with. Second pic shows the C-channel tacked to the cut off bumper brackets. Yes the steel is stuff that I have scavenged from here and there.... lol Free is what it's all about lol

Haven't had much time to work on it much.

any finished pics?

Hmmmm nope.... LOL haven't been able to work on it. Had to do some other things to it like rebuild the unibody frame rails. Probably would help if I had a garage to work on it in.
