Default Tie Rod made from 1 1/4" 1/88 wall DOM

so i decided to get some 1/88 wall DOM and sleeve a stock tie rod instead of getting the V8 grand chero' tie rod.
thought id share.
all thats needed is about 38" of 1 1/4" 1/88 wall DOM, a stock tie rod and access to a machine shop.
you need to have two jam nuts made, one right hand thread one left, that fit the stock TRE's.
then you take your stock rod and your DOM and your BFH and beat the stock rod inside the DOM (helps if you clean the stock rod w/ a wire wheel and put some WD-40 on it)
grind the ends flush with the rod (I used a lathe cause i could)
helps if you mark one end of the rod and the jam nut with a line/mark so as not to mix up the nuts.
and thats it. heres some pics. im really happy with it, its pure BEEF!

Looks great. Definitely a good upgrade. Your weak link is now your drag link, specifically where the hole is, it will bend there. You can gusset it to help keep it from bending.

how would you gusset it? two pieces of flatbar on either side of the hole is my first thought....
