Tailgate box

So I've been trying to think of ways to make my tailgating Experience a bit more fun. Always hated having to turn the music up loud to be able to hear it outside. Problem solved lol. Took a cheap $30 box with 6.5's from walmart and mounted it to my trailer hitch. Already have my amps hooked up so running the wiring was easy enough. What ya guys think?

Pretty good thinking great for working outside or party lol

i would agree that was good thinking but why not just leave the hatch up? you can turn the light off with the hatch up to keep from draining the battery any faster plus you get a seat provided its not too loud.

I like it!!!! Id love to know how to turn the lights off when my doors are open in my cherokee.. I could have used it friday night at the ball game

Older versions (87-90) had a switch right on the rear light that can be reached from the hatch. I have never noticed on the newer XJ's.

My inside lights turn off after a minute or so. Also usually I bring my comfy fishing chairs with the bee....... I mean beverage holders. Set my grill up and listen to the sweet sounds of metal

the newer ones or mine that is all you do is push in on the light cover its self. if i recall been a while since ive done it. usually only when i go camping

Good idea! But, with the amp wired up and everything, the way mine is set up is so that there is no crossover going to the sub... its all straight bass with no vocals or anything. So, if I were to do this, I'd have to always switch the amp so it'll cross over right?

I'm buying a splitter so I can run them both at the same time. I did have to do what your talkin about to test it out though. I gotta make my way to a car stereo place to pick one up.
