Attachment 324882

Removed light, brake, and wiper wiring.
Attachment 324883

The cut.
Attachment 324884

Jack and wood holding up the roof and rear hatch. There was barely 1/4 inch left on the pinch seam that holds the rear post together.
Attachment 324885

Seat belt and trim hardware intact.
Attachment 324886

Seat belt winding relocated and welded. The bolt that the door latch catches on had to be shortened to allow the winding to sit closer to the post.
Attachment 324887

Fitting the housing.
Attachment 324888

Rear seat bracket trimmed.
Attachment 324889

Fitting around the fuel housing and support bracket.
Attachment 324890

It's not quite finished. Interior trim needs to be attached, wiring hidden, and cosmetic touch ups.
But you get the idea.

Pretty friggin awesome, Thinkin way outside the box... Literally!

I'd only suggested something heavier than the 16g steel. That back hatch corner is a weak point structurally. But damn, thats something you never see.

That would be great for the go fast / desert race guys.

Lowrange2 05-06-2014 07:35 AM

That's.... interesting. Certainly never seen that before.

DJKnightmare 05-06-2014 07:50 AM

I like it. I really like it. You should put a fender flair up on top....no...don't

Can't wait to see it painted up and finished!

unidentifiedbomb 05-06-2014 10:36 AM

At first I was like yea another cargo mount fab job....but then.....you grabbed my attention like you grabbed the grinder.

hawkeye 1 05-06-2014 10:57 AM

Wow; a whole new concept of taking structural integrity out of a Cherokee.

Who needs C and D pillars anyway?

Lowrange2 05-06-2014 11:34 AM

Those are completely over rated.

highspeed 05-06-2014 12:14 PM

Do it on both sides! that would be awesome!

Cool Idea, but looks odd to me on one side only.

unidentifiedbomb 05-06-2014 12:48 PM

CJ inspired?

uber 05-06-2014 01:06 PM

Can't figure out how I feel about this. It is genuinely creative, either way.

Spare Tire Carrier

Gonna hate yourself when you go to a bigger tire lol
Also saw Alaskan license plates, is Alaska really that boring that people come up with these ideas?

anarce 05-06-2014 04:42 PM

It would be great if you had a belt that went around a hub on the spare wheel and the rear wheel so they turn together. I don't know what purpose it would serve, but it would really screw with people's minds while you were driving.
