Hello,
OK Finally some progress pictures.

This is the left unibody rail, stripped , split open to pull the dents and kinks, primed with weld through primer.

This is the left stiffner burned in, after it was burned in I beat the rail back into shape and welded the split shut. I will take a pic and include it later I thought I had one.

This is the right side stripped and split and welded back together, it was not as beat as the other side, but still pretty bad.

Right side stiffner fitted and ready to be burned in.

Front section of the right side by the longarm brackets.
After I get right side burned in I can tear into the roickers.
Cheers

How are the stiffiners? I want to get some but am afraid of interference with other things like bumpers, skids, sliders, suspension and such...

Hello,
The ones in the picture " HD Engineering" go from just behind the front lower control arm bracket to just in front of the rear leaf spring pocket.
They have 2 slots cut into them for the trans cross member studs to stick through.
They are designed not to interfere.
In my case the had to be severly modified due to my front long arm conversion, rear triangulated coil conversion and roll cage tie in's.
But you should have no issues.

PS: If your sliders use the unibody rail to mount, you will have to remount them on top of the stiffners.

This looks really nice, I would like to do a similar thing to replace my rockers. Would you be able to post more pictures and also, how did you attached the 2x6 in the back, at the bottom of the jeep floor?
Thanks!
Thanks!

They look great on your rig.
I was just thinking about the difficulty of adding sliders, long arms, and a belly skid in the future.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Hello,
Well as you have no doubt figured out progress has halted.

Here is one of the culprits.
See red circle, 15 hours for 2 people, YEAH RIGHT !!!
I am working by myself so triple that.
They also neglect to tell you, the over a thousand bits and pieces, are not labeled and the part numbers, in the 100 page instruction sheet, do not match the bags the hardware are in.
HELL, I have 6 hours in just sorting and labeling wood and hardware.
I hope to get this thing out of my way, before another weekend goes down the tubes.
Then it was the inflatable pool.
The garden funiture that needed to be built.
OK I am done ranting.

Hello,
New record high temp 93 Degrees.
Well despite that I got the right side sanded and a coat of zinc weld through primer on everything.
So I am ready to start burning it in on the passenger side.
I got the driver side reinforced rail drilled and tapped for my TC skid plate mounting holes.
I shortened my skid by 3", it attaches to the crossmember and then angles to the frame rail and bolts to side and bottom of the rail.
But the coverage was more than needed and it was turning into a big rock hanger, so I shortened it up as much as I can.
I think I can do more, as I am not completely happy with the size.
Pics to follow soon.
Hope to have a productive weekend this weekend.

OK, excuses aside.
Good productive weekend.
Got the right side stiffner burned in.
Got the right and left rockers cut out, decided what I was going to do with the 2X6.
I was wanting to open things up and decide the height of the 2X6 before doing anything else.
Original plan involved cutting the doors also.
Pic 1.
Looking rearward rocker cut open, note how pushed in it was, it should be outside the door edge.

Pic 2.
Facing forward. More carnage.

Pic 3.
I left 1/2" extra steel and bent it back on itself to give me double thickness for welding.
I also used 4 ton hyd. body ram to pull the sill plates and front door lower pillars back out.

Pic 4.
Right side cut and mocked up.

Pic 5&6.
Left side mocked up.

Pic 7&8.
Bottom view, you can see the double edge where I will weld, 2X6 is flush with the floor , this is why i decided to not go higher and cut the doors, floor would have been exposed.

Top down view.

Pic9.
Angle cut line for the end caps.

More to come once I get them burned in.
I am cutting 4 2X2 braces that will angle up through the floor and fishmouth onto the back of the 2X6. These will weld onto the frame stiffners.
Cheers Nitro
