I have blacked out my tail lights causing my reverse lights to be very dim. This turned out to be an issue expecially when your off roading at night. Now i saw a lot of people with aftermarket lights mounted under or on top of there bumper but i have a rust beat up stock bunper, and i could just imagine something bouncing up and braking those lights when mounted under. So this what i came up with...






I tapped out the original "clear" reverse lens and inserted some rectangular lights that almost fit perfect. All it needed was to be sealed in there with some type of super duper plastic sealant. I then unplugged the wires going to the old light bulb housing and plugged them into the lights. They work great!

Very true I could have just taped over the reverse light but I was looking for some more light power then that of the stock lights.

On my old jeep the po put lights from an olds aurora in the hatch next to the license plate lights. Looked pretty good/stock-like. I'll see if I can get a pic for ya later on today (I still have the hatch in my shed)

Here's a pic of those reverse lights. I thought it looked pretty good. The hatch is clearly broken but I kept it bc I thought they were a good idea lol.

Those are really sweet! Did you cut the hatch to put them in or are the mounted to the hatch

The hatch is cut to fit them.. they sit flush and look clean IMO. If you're local ill give em to you, rather see them go to use than just sit in my shed

I have to point this out....

You notice your reverse lights are dimmer and need upgrading after this tail light tint....

But the normal tail lights to warn others that your slowing/stopping are ok?

You can absolutely see them because they are a a major portion of the tail light, the tint allows the brake light to light up bright red but when it comes to the little reverse light it clearly turns white but it "tinted" which doesn't allow the light to beam through. Just like a car at night that has tinted windows and you turn the interior light on you sure can see that its on from the outside but it doesn't project light to the surrounding area of the car like a car without tinted windows would do.

here in Oregon its a fat ticket for illegal modifying any of your exterior lights out of odot regulations... thats illegal for a reason..
but hey what do i know... i think its as cool as alteza lights...
