Narrow Cargo Rack Project
I like my Yakima cargo case, but wanted a cargo rack for water, fuel, tools and firewood. I couldn't find one the dimensions I want, so I bought some materials, got some of it done today. I'll add photos as I progress.

Thanks. Too dark to get a shot on the XJ, but this is as far as I got tonight. Just need a bit more 1" x .50" tube, some hooks for tie down points, then clean up and paint. So far so good :)

Looks great! I sold my welder a few months before getting my XJ, been regretting it since.

Thanks. I couldn't live without a welder. Here it's shown with the intended containers. Still plenty of room for a cooler and some firewood up front. I may go with different fuel and water cans, but there's some wiggle room there if I need it. Also, I'll eventually lash everything down with ratcheting tie downs, and add some hooks up front for a cargo net. I'll add brackets to attach it to my roof racks using supersized zip ties.

Nixed the metal fuel cans, went with plastic Spectre cans. 2 fuel, 1 water.

That's pretty slick. Nice job.

Thank you.

Looks good! I like how the profile matches the Yakima cargo box.

I like it!

Good job. I can't seem to get my roof rack made right
