Default My hood vents and hood pins

Finally got a few pics of my hood vents and pins. Vents come from a Chevy Lumina Z24. I made the hood pins from scrap SS rod and SS fender washers. More pics in my albums.

What'cha yall think?

x2. Pretty crafty with the springs. If I ever do hood pins, that's how I'm gonna do the springs.

I love the look. I did the same thing with the springs on mine. Pretty easy once you figure out how to take off the header panel and headlight loom.

Looks good man. I like what you did with the wire to hold the pins, I get sick of finding somewhere to stash mine so I don't lose them every time I open the hood. I might just have to copy you on that.

I think 4 pins are cooler than 2 though.

I like four pins also and have them on my dragcar(long term project) with fiberglass hood. I still have the hinges on the XJ.

On a side note...I'm building bumpers very simuliar to the silver ones you have in your photo album. How far does that silver one stick out in front for a winch?

Not very far, we tried to keep it tight. I actually had to trim the grille to go around the winch. I like it much better this way. Dont want to de-rail your thread here.. let me see if I can find a better pic of it.

This is the best pic I have if it at work, I can take more at home if you want a better pic. Let me know.

Looks good and well-done, but why use hood pins on a stock XJ hood? Why not use the stock hardware? I can see using them on an aftermarket hood.
