$5K is a steal compared to the "Jeep" brand trailer. Nicely done for TEOTWAWAKI...

Well $5000.00 includdes everything not just the biuld. The biuld without solar setup was about $4200.00

The total wieght on the trailer loaded is about 900 and 1000 lbs. My best guess

Here are some more photos.
Here is the fuel tank and setup.

Here are a few pictures to show articulation. I'm at about 32 inch to the bottom of the tire.

This was my first trip I took the trailer. Prescott valley.

After this trip I desided to carpet the inside of the cargo box the help quite it down.

And here is the Solar setup. It's Goalzero.
3 boulder 30 solar panels
350 extreme solar generator
5 LED low watt solar lights
The Goal zero Tripod panal rack.
Hand lights and backpack solar panels also.

Here are Photos on the trail.

This is from Jarome for New Years. Here is loading the trailer to show the amount of room.

Needless to say it was a little chilly.

A little chili and cornbread for dinner. I know it has nothing to do with the biuld. Just had to throw it in there.

Man, thats super awesome. Great job and thanks for the inspiration! Maybe in the near future (after I finish this stupid college shenanigans), I can build one of my own

Does the trailer have any brakes? How does the XJ handle when its loaded up?

1000lb weighted down? wow ya could pull that with a 10-speed bike, you must not even notice it's there.

I've been eye-balling a couple of older 1.5ton military trailers at +/- 700 lbs stripped, but seeing how little yours weighs with all your stuff loaded up i think i'll be looking at them with intent Thanx for sharing your experiences!!!

Its been a long build. Almost 3 yrs. but well worth it. the trailer has no brakes. the jeep pulls it pretty well. Steep grades on the highway let's me know it back there But that's to be expected. Building yourself is definitely cheaper. I was originally looking at the Chaser trailer built by Adventure trailers. But $14000!? I couldnt bring myself to spend that kind of cash.

How much does the trailer move around while you're in the tent? And with the trailer being so light, do you think a stabilizer would help it on the highway?

The tent is very stable. I put the jack down in the front and have a stabilizer for the rear. Look at some of the picture of it setup. you can see the rear stabilizer. I can unhook from the jeep and the trailer setup does very well on its own.
when the trailer is unloaded and no water or fuel in it. pulling down the road is a slow process . top speed was about 50. with some wait on the tounge of the trailer. ' water , fuel , etc. ' the trailer pulls true with no issues .

I like the gas tank & refueling set-up. Sure beats messing with jerry cans!

The fuel cell is a nice upgrade. I'm definitely glad I went with it.

Beautiful work on your trailer, looks like you and family are getting great outdoor enjoyment.
Really broad scope of useful options.
Very nicely done, congrats!

I have some more ideas to look at and hope to do some additions to the build.
The trailer is awesome for camping. I'm hoping to get drawn for deer and elk this year. the trailer will definitely come in handy.
