My Go Bag! Offroad camp trailer biuld
Hey all. I've been in the prosess of biulding a Offroad camp trailer over the past few years. Did alot of research through other web sites and companys. So I thought I'd share my design and biuld with anyone else wanting to biuld there own.
I started out with an old Ag trailer from the farm. It was originally a 1000 Gl. fertilizer tank trailer with a 4X6 platform. So this is what I started with. http://imageshack.us/a/img443/3676/trailer4bc.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img59/6752/trailer1b.jpg I began ordering the supplies I would need to biuld the trailer. Found a local Fab shop that offered me an amazing price to put it all together. So the biuld begins. http://imageshack.us/a/img90/6879/trailer12x.jpg I Originally wanted a taller box but after seeing the skeleton frame I had them cut it down to a 24 inch box instead. http://imageshack.us/a/img593/1253/trailer13i.jpg The siding is 1/8 inch plate and the pipe work is 1.25 OD for slider fenders. http://imageshack.us/a/img801/3783/trailer10.jpg I had them continue the steps down the full lenght of the sides for steps or possible additional storage space( Water, Fuel cans Etc.) http://imageshack.us/a/img580/5010/trailer9n.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img521/1168/trailer8.jpg I had the front deck plated for water storage and addition add ons in the future. Pictures will show later. http://imageshack.us/a/img692/6051/trailer6.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img20/866/trailer5.jpg At this point I had the front fenders carried forward for added rock protection and possible future storage. The tank is a 19 Gl. Bpa safe water tank. http://imageshack.us/a/img189/3407/trailer2ga.jpg Here you can see the rear swing out gate and top being layed out. http://imageshack.us/a/img507/7877/trailer1p.jpg Thats what I have for now. Will try to continue this in a bit. Take care all. |

I have some more pictures uploaded.
This is the design for the rear lights and tailgate. http://imageshack.us/a/img51/4226/8rxt.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img571/9689/y1mq.jpg I had them layout the front a little differant because I wanted to add a 5 gallon porpane tank to it also. I had them slide the water tank over to the driver side to make room. Underneath you can see that they are also getting ready to Fab the fuel cell under the trailer. http://imageshack.us/a/img593/1713/xobf.jpg The beginning of the propane bottle mounts. http://imageshack.us/a/img689/4282/1lju.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img850/4274/eim3.jpg The tank is in place and secured. http://imageshack.us/a/img30/5561/o1bd.jpg The front completed. http://imageshack.us/a/img42/8281/4ifw.jpg This is the hinge design for the top. It allows it to lift up and away from the inner edge to help with a water seal. http://imageshack.us/a/img844/7658/5lyv.jpg Overall view down the hinge side. http://imageshack.us/a/img4/3505/8edn.jpg Here is the locking system they had in mind. It is designed to take a hocky puck lock. A very secure setup. I am very happy with it. http://imageshack.us/a/img703/5616/2oau.jpg This is a link to the style of lock I used. http://lockitt.com/TL_hockeypuck.htm I wanted tiedown capability also so I had tie down hooks added throughout the trailer. http://imageshack.us/a/img594/3412/u3e1.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img194/7681/guad.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img28/2981/yqak.jpg |

|

|
Saw the trailer on your build cant wait to see more progress and completed pics.

Very nice build. Well thought out design. The size is just right. I'm looking to build mine pretty much the same except access doors on the sides and a fixed roof so I can mount a tent on top. Keep the pics coming. Can't wait to see it finished.

Hey all, Sorry it's been so long sence my last post. I've been trying to hunt down some pictures. This is the handle design for the lid.
http://imageshack.us/a/img585/3102/70tg.jpg Here is the mounting rail for the tent. Its a 6 inch rise so that i can store things underneath it. I can also lift it an addition 5 inchs for more storage space if needed. http://imageshack.us/a/img17/9167/jn7a.jpg The 5 on 4.5 axle so I have the same bolt pattern. http://imageshack.us/a/img20/6818/oox8.jpg And finally the tent mounted on top. http://imageshack.us/a/img690/2259/a4ln.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img706/7233/hp9w.jpg Here you can see the spare tire carries on the rear. http://imageshack.us/a/img854/6004/9rh4.jpg |
